There is a lot to talk about on Twitter, as well as a lot has been said about Twitter. It is referred to as a Social Media application. That is good enough for me.
With other people on there, you have Followers and people follow you. It's a bit confusing, I know, but once you get into it, it works pretty good I guess. I thought that it was going to be much more exact in it's communication ability than it is in reality, or at least my experience. There are times when I may not get a response back at all to posting something to somebody. It is very hit or miss in that respect. At first I thought I was getting dissed and felt like dropping everyone I was following and expecting to get a response back from. But then I would e-mail them and get great Emails back, so it is just the nature of the beast. It is more of a one way street I guess.
You throw your posts out there and odds are they are just going to sit there, nothing will happen in response, but then there are those times when the heavens open up and the Twitter God smiles down on you kindly and followers actually respond to your posts.
There are two kinds of responses you may get, direct and through the Twitter Feed. You have a way of checking on both of these, But I think some people wait a while to check any such thing. I don't know. I know, for the most Part, I will respond to a message either way, direct or not. Others, I guess they are just too busy or Important.
Or I am just getting dissed.
By the By, I am Beamer on Twitter, if you want to follow me. I'snt that exciting news?
I just found this - A simple Twitter Guide

I'm gonna start with a biggie, or at least something that is getting bigger. It is hard to classify Twitter in the realm of Message board or Chat room. It is both of these but neither. It is a beast all of its own, the way I see it.
Posting is limited to 140 characters. Total. Per post. It takes some getting used to. You want to make sense and try to be complete withing that 140 character limit. It is easy to provide links to what you are doing and there are places that will reduce the size of your link down to a much more manageable size. You also want to refrain from multiple postings in order to get your point across. It will give you a character count off to the upper right hand side and once you go over the Limit, you start seeing red numbers.
There is a multitude of links, applications, tools, and other formats for twitter. One of these I tried was Tweet Deck.
Tweetdeck is apparently used by a lot of twitters. I didn't care for it purely because my Computer is apparently lacking in the Memory Department. even with 256 K in Ram and basically just running a windows XP with very little doo dads added. If you have gobs of Memory give it a try, if you want.

Starting another one
Finding less and less I can write about with my other Blogs and apparently filling a need at self torture, I am beginning another blog to add to the masses already out there.
I have spent almost a third of my life dealing with this beast, the Internet, the World wide web, or as I refer to it many times, the Wild Wild West. All matters of stuff are present on the ever changing Internet and I am willing to try and make it a little easier for you to make sense of it.
I'm going to review Blogs, Sites, programs, browsers, and anything else that comes my way. Come along with me as I learn what makes the Internet tick.
